The Answer-First Rewrite Framework

Your pages already say the right things — they're just structured for human skimmers, not for AI engines that need to extract and cite a clean answer. These five steps restructure any existing page without rewriting your message.

The five steps

01

Lead with the answer

Put a 40–60 word direct answer to the page's core question in the first paragraph, before any story, context, or marketing copy.

Why it works: AI engines extract the first self-contained answer block they find. If your answer is buried in paragraph five, the engine cites whoever answered faster.

02

Turn headings into questions

Rewrite every H2/H3 as the literal question a buyer would type or say. 'Pricing' becomes 'How much does {{CATEGORY}} cost?'

Why it works: Engines match user queries to question-shaped headings. A noun heading matches nothing; a question heading matches thousands of phrasings.

03

Make every claim citable

Attach a number, date, source, or named entity to every claim. 'We grow fast' becomes 'Used by 4,200 teams as of 2026.'

Why it works: Engines prefer sentences they can quote without hedging. Vague claims get skipped; specific claims get cited with your brand attached.

04

Chunk for extraction

Break walls of text into 2–4 sentence paragraphs, bulleted lists for 3+ items, and tables for any comparison. One idea per chunk.

Why it works: AI answers are assembled from chunks. If two ideas share a paragraph, the engine extracts neither cleanly and moves on to a cleaner source.

05

Name your entities consistently

Use your full brand name, product name, and category term exactly the same way on every page — and add Organization + FAQPage schema to match.

Why it works: Engines build an entity graph. Inconsistent naming ('Acme', 'Acme AI', 'the platform') splits your authority across three weak entities instead of one strong one.
